BETWEEN ITALY & AUSTRALIA

Hi, I am Lara.

I was born in Australia and grew up in the Langhe. Over the years I have lived between Italy, Australia, New Zealand and Scotland: different places that have shaped the way I observe and tell the stories around me.

I studied photography and contemporary art in Hobart, at the Tasmanian College of the Arts at the University of Tasmania. I later specialised in fashion photography through a master's degree in Milan and studied documentary film in Sydney.

These experiences led me to bring different approaches together: a careful eye for composition, an interest in people and an unforced way of telling stories as they happen.

I teach photography and video at the Grafico Ipermediale school and work as a photographer at Darling Studio, the photography space I share with Simone in Mondovì.

I focus mainly on fine art photography, wedding reportage and portraiture. In weddings, I look for images that are carefully made but never over-constructed, able to hold not only what happened but also the atmosphere of the day.

My personal work focuses on the beauty of imperfection, the fleeting nature of moments and the poetry that can hide in everyday things.
